Ihmisiä tiellä - finished

Tuomas M. Mäkelä finished the sound design work and the original film music composition for a 40 minutes long film Ihmisiä tiellä (Hit The Road).

Hit the Road is a film about groups and not belonging to groups. The drama takes place in an efficient, faceless school environment, where three members of the school staff are feeling uncomfortable in the brutal embrace of this uncommunity. They don't feel like they belong. Directed by Arttu Haglund, the film features Panu Tuomikko (Against the Dark), Tommi Korpela (A Man's Job) and Harry Viita (The Rose of the Rascal) in its leading roles.

The film music and sound design was the final thesis work by Tuomas to TAMK University of Applied Sciences, School of Art and Media.

The film will be shown on TAF 09 - Tampere Art Factory Festival during 15th and 16th of May, 2009. More information and a trailer available at official film website.

New album from Jääportit

Tuomas M. Mäkelä's music project Jääportit has released 4th full-length album called Voimasuo. Album was released as 600 copies limited edition CD in 6-panel digipak covers by Epidemie Records, a fine indie record label in Czech Republic, at May 12th, 2009.

Album contains a bit over 50 minutes of wide-ranging music combining everything from dreamy ethereal ambient to cold machine rhythms and melancholic post-rock. Album's music production from composing to mixing and mastering was solely made by Tuomas.

While the film "Ihmisiä tiellä" is still under work, a trailer of the film has been finished. It contains sound and music work by Tuomas. You can watch and hear a high quality version on official film website or Vimeo. Lower quality version is available on YouTube.

New film project

2008/08/08

Tuomas was recording the location sound for a new short film called Ihmisiä tiellä (Hit the Road), written and directed by Arttu Haglund. Currently film is being edited and after that Tuomas starts the work with the post-production sound and the score music for the film.

Futsal Jingle & Kerran movie website

2008/04/18

Tuomas created jingle music for Futsal sport competition. You can listen to it on Music-page or watch the sport show called "Futsalin opiskelijoiden Sm-kisat", where it has been used, from the television. It will be broadcasted by Diggari Channel on Saturday 26th of March 9.00PM, and on Sunday 27th of March 9.00PM.

Now there's a website made for Kerran - short movie. Site contains more information about the movie and it is also freely available on the site.

For few past months Tuomas has been working hardly with these short films productions:
Kerran (Once Upon) - film score music and sound design
Pakoon (Escape) - film score music.
Sirkka - part of film score music and sound design.
